The City of Chicago recently came to EKI-Digital to help them develop an open source website and mobile app that uses open data to let residents search for unique information and events happening around them. Named OpenGrid (website: http://opengrid.io/), this application harnesses open data to better serve Chicago residents, who can now search for relevant data tailored to their location and needs in the city, such as city services delivered on their block, nearby street closures and city activities in their community.

OpenGrid is a leap forward in finding and presenting useful government data to anyone who needs it, allowing the City of Chicago to further commit to their promise of transparency and innovation. EKI-Digital is proud to be part of this innovative initiative to enable digital government.
